About

Who am I

Hi, I’m Lara! Previously an outdoor guide and team-building facilitator, I found my passion for supporting empowered birth while volunteering as a doula during my master of social work studies. In 2021, I earned my license in the state of Maryland and became a full-time therapist.

When I’m not in the therapy room, I love creating workshops and practices to help us slow down and bring nature, mindfulness, and joy to our busy lives. I hope you will find the content on my site thought provoking and empowering. I’m glad you’re here!

My vision

With specialized training in reproductive mental health, birth trauma, perinatal loss, and experience as a Doula, I know it’s common to struggle with mixed or upsetting emotions about your reproductive journey, pregnancy, birth, and identity as a parent. We believe becoming a parent should be easy, yet for many people, it is not. Many people experience anxiety, depression, trauma, and loss. You deserve to feel nurtured and empowered during this transitional time. With support, it gets better.

“The wound is the place where the light enters you”

— Rumi

My commitment

I apply the latest research in interpersonal neurobiology, polyvagal theory, and attachment theory to create a gentle, trauma-informed, and evidenced-based healing environment. Using mind-body healing approaches including Internal Family Systems, Brainspotting, mindfulness, self compassion, and somatic psychotherapy, we co-create a path towards healing that guides you through releasing old patterns that no longer serve you, cultivate curiosity and kindness towards all parts of you, and step into embodied wholeness.
